Outreach & Education

Conservation Education

You can often find us at local events and festivals across Southwestern Ontario. Our largest event of the year is an a hatchling turtle release at Morrison Dam Conservation Area in Exeter, in partnership with the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority. Typically, this event takes place at the end of August, just prior to the Labour Day weekend. This is a fun day of reptile education and hands-on interaction with reptiles, and provides a unique experience to watch baby turtles enter the wild for the very fist time. More details will follow as we draw closer to the event.

In the past, we provided "Reptiles at Risk in the Classroom" presentations to teach young members of our community about reptiles, the threats they face, and the ways to help with their recovery. Please contact us if you are interested in reptile conservation and outreach in Huron County.
