Case Study: Williams Woodlot

Mack Williams

In 1946 Mack Williams purchased a 100 acre farm north of Barrie. Much of the farm was composed of marginal pasture land with dry sandy soils. Over a period of several years the farm was reforested and now healthy maturing plantations are found on what was once marginal farmland. Plantation areas and remnant hardwood forest have been thinned several times with the assistance of forestry professionals.

Two assessments were completed: one in 2006, and an update in 2012. Click on the link to view the extension notes on the Mack Williams Woodlot.
