Gingko

Honour Roll of Trees

Ginkgo biloba

Non-native

Also called maidenhair-tree, this species originated in China and has been extensively planted as an ornamental for many years. The leaves are deciduous and distinctively fan shaped. Usually only male trees are planted since the female trees produce a fleshy plum-like fruit that smells bad when it decays.
